China’s stringent zero-Covid policy that involves public-funded mass testing and a surging demand for testing kits and sample collection booths is draining local government finances, the Washington Post reported.
Test providers are constantly coming under the glare of regulators and the public as questions are raised about Beijing’s resolve to prevent community spread of Covid, while most other countries are learning to live with the disease, the report added.
