The head of Britain’s cyber-intelligence agency has accused China of using technology to exert control abroad, causing “a huge threat to us all,” ABC News reported, adding that underneath Beijing’s actions “is a sense of fear” that caused the communist regime to monitor its own citizens and restrict them from having free speech.
Director of Government Communications Headquarters Jeremy Fleming said China is using satellite systems and digital currencies to exert global influence and regards other countries “as either potential adversaries or potential client states, to be threatened, bribed or coerced,” the report said.
