China sent a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile speeding around the globe last month, sending shockwaves through US intelligence circles as Beijing continues to build up its military forces and engages in increasingly provocative activity near Taiwan, the Financial Times reported.
The manoeuvrable missile, demonstrating a space capability the Chinese were not thought to have, circled the planet at a low orbit before heading towards its test target. “We have no idea how they did this,” a US official admitted. Full story: Financial Times.
