K-pop boy band BTS met Joe Biden at the White House on Tuesday to discuss racial discrimination amid rising anti-Asian hate crimes in the US, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“Equality begins when we open up and embrace all of our differences,” the Journal quoted Suga, a member of the K-pop band, as saying. There were 279 anti-Asian hate crimes reported in 2020, according to US data, 77% higher than the previous year.
