Tesla is diversifying suppliers to reduce reliance on China: FT.


(AF) Tesla has further diversified its suppliers and reduced reliance on China by signing a deal to buy nickel for its batteries from Anglo-Australian miner BHP, the Financial Times reported.

It follows deals struck with Vale and Goro as the electric vehicle maker’s chief Elon Musk seeks companies who can produce the metal “efficiently and in an environmentally sensitive way”, the report added. Full story: Financial Times
