UnionPay International launches Huawei Pay service in Singapore

(ATF) – China UnionPay.com and Unionpay International recently cooperated with Huawei and the Singapore branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to launch the Huawei Pay service in the Lion City for the first time.

Local Huawei and Glory mobile phone users can utilise “wave” machine payment in 47 countries and regions by binding their ICBC UnionPay credit cards, including nearly 35,000 local point of sale terminals, state media reported.

More than 4.5 million merchants in 57 countries and regions accept UnionPay mobile payment services overseas. Additionally, 53 electronic wallets have been built or upgraded with the UnionPay standard in 13 countries and regions to support local UnionPay card holders, the report added.
