A state-owned aeronautics company in China has successfully tested a pilotless helicopter, Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post reported, citing state-owned broadcaster CCTV.
The test flight of the Avic AR-500BJ near Qingdao suggests small autonomous helicopters could operate over the ocean. A defence analyst told CCTV such craft had few military applications.
