Chinese astronauts will be provided with the thinnest nappies ever used in space exploration, after protesting about the irritation caused by thicker alternatives, according to a report by the South China Morning Post.
“Current nappies are too thick and cause a strong sense of pressure on the underside,” said a paper in the Chinese Manned Spaceflight Journal, quoted by the report. Researchers say the new nappies will be just 7mm thick compared to their 26mm predecessors and will be able to carry over 1kg of urine.
