Crypto Thieves Lurk on Social Media to Steal NFTs

Scammers are increasingly taking to social media as a tool to execute elaborate crypto and non-fungible token (NFT) scams, the Straits Times reported, citing the instance of the US$3 million hack involving NFTs from the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), a new sensation among global celebrities.

Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and chat platforms Discord and Telegram are key platforms that crypto hacks use to mount such scams, the report said, citing Ronghui Gu, chief security officer of blockchain security firm CertiK.
