China’s BYD Ends Production, Sales of Petrol Vehicles – Xinhua

China’s leading new-energy vehicle manufacturer says BYD’s auto business will focus on pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles

Chinese auto manufacturer BYD announced that it has ceased the production of traditional petrol-powered vehicles starting March, Xinhua reported.

In the future, BYD’s auto business will focus on pure electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid EVs, said the Chinese leading new-energy vehicle manufacturer, adding that it will continue to offer existing customers of petrol vehicles improved service and after-sales support, as well as the supply of spare parts throughout the life cycle.
