India's GMR Wins Bid To Operate Medan Airport In Indonesia

GMR Airports Ltd, a subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure Ltd, said it won a bid for the development and operation of Kualanamu International Airport in Medan, Indonesia.

Angkasa Pura 2 (AP2), the state-owned enterprise and the bidding authority for the Medan Airport, announced GMR as the winning bidder, a release from GMR said.

Medan is the fourth biggest urban area in Indonesia and is the capital of North Sumatra province. GMR is looking at a 49:51 tie-up with AP2 for the project.

The airport handled more than 10 million passengers in 2018.
