China Leads the US on Scientific Research Papers – Guardian

 

China is leading the world for quantity and quality of scientific research, overtaking the United States, according to a report by Japan’s science and technology ministry, a report by The Guardian says.

Chinese scientific research accounts for almost a quarter of the world’s output, the report said, pulling ahead of the US at 17%. It also publishes 27% of the world’s most frequently cited studies, followed by the US at nearly 25%, and the UK at 5.5%, the report said.
