Explained: China’s crackdown on DiDi Chuxing

DiDi Chuxing landed in trouble with China’s data regulators just days after it launched an IPO in the US. The Chinese govt has removed its app from all app stores across China.

Chinese cybersecurity watchdog, CAC, said on July 2 that they launched a “cybersecurity review” of DiDi to “guard against risks to national data security” and “protect the public interest.”
