Tokyo Sets Quantum Computing Deadline – Japan Times

 

The Japanese government intends to enter the global quantum computing race by putting its first domestically produced computer into service within the current fiscal year ending March 2023, The Japan Times reported.

The new strategy includes plans to establish four quantum research centres across the country, and could be finalised this month, after the ruling Liberal Democratic Party proposed expanded investment in quantum computing and artificial intelligence.
