Sony Group chairman Kenichiro Yoshida has said the Japanese conglomerate plans to set up an “independent” joint venture with Honda to develop electric vehicles by the end of this year, Nikkei Asia reported, adding that the joint venture may hold a public share offering.
While Sony will develop the software and entertainment content available in the car, Honda will provide the hardware and safety features for the vehicle, the report said.
