China’s Tech Exports to Russia Plunge – Washington Post


Chinese laptop exports to Russia fell 40% in March compared with February, while smartphone shipments were down by more than 30%, according to Chinese trade data, and US officials attributed the drops to Beijing’s wariness of US sanctions, The Washington Post reported.

US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told the Post that export controls were working. “I think they’re working because we have such a strong coalition of countries around the world participating in enforcing [them],” she added, noting that exports of telecoms network equipment fell 98%.
